Chester

Alicia Renee Bing, daughter of Marlena Harris and the late Anthony Bing. Alicia Bing was born August 11, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended the public schools of Philadelphia County and was a graduate of Bartram High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined the First Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Apostle Joel H. Moorefield, Sr. where she was a dedicated member. Alicia served in every possible capacity and was a blessing at whatever she put her hands to do.

She was united in holy matrimony to George Scott, Jr. in June of 2000. This union was blessed with four children. George Scott, Jr preceded her in death in July 2016.

Alicia was a hard worker and believed in the value of the dollar. She would often have two & three jobs at once, until her younger brother would refer to her as “the working Jamaican”. Alicia had a passion for helping others which led to her passion in the nursing field; where she was able to appropriately exhibit bedside manner. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Monday, June 26, 2023, at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Nathaniel Bing a.k.a. “Boobie”, Danielle Bing a.k.a “Yelly”, and Tiffany Bing a.k.a. “Fat Mama”; seven grandchildren: siblings: six brothers, one sister; one sister-in-law, aunts, and uncles: and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

One of Alicia’s favorite scriptures was Joshua 1:8-9 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
